šŸŽ¤ Three minutes to convince

The Next Startupper Challenge, organized by Vivatechnology, CCI France and FrenchFounders, is a national competition spotlighting six student-led startups with a strong mission. The format is tough: 3 minutes of live pitching, followed by 3 minutes of Q&AĀ with a jury of high-level investors and tech leaders.

Artemisia Greentech pitched its mission: designing and producing sustainable genetic toolsĀ that help labs reduce their environmental impact — including a certified ecoscoreĀ to bring full transparency to purchasing decisions. In just a few minutes, Typhaine had to make the case that sustainability and biotechnology must go hand in hand.

šŸ… And the winner is…

The winners were announced the next day, during the Global Awards Ceremony. The jury selected Artemisia Greentech for the Coup de Cœur Vivatech 2025 award, a moment full of emotion, pride, and confirmation that biotech innovation can serve both science and sustainability. This recognition was significant for Artemisia, as it proves that science can be part of the solution, not the problem.

Key insights from VivaTech 2025

🧬 Sanofi x McLaren: AI meets performance

At the Sanofi booth, a partnership with McLaren Racing was showcased — an ambitious project using F1-inspired data analytics to optimize biopharma manufacturing. With over 100 production lines across seven countries now equipped, the goal is clear: accelerate processes, reduce waste, and improve patient outcomes.

šŸ‘©ā€šŸ”¬ When science sparks the leap...

Panel at VivaTech 2025 featuring Xavier Duportet and ThƩau Peronnin discussing science-driven entrepreneurship.

One of the most powerful sessions for us was the roundtable titled ā€œWhat if it all started with scientific entrepreneurs, not technologies?ā€. On stage were ThĆ©au Peronnin, co-founder of Alice & Bob a startup that builds fault-tolerant quantum computers, and Xavier Duportet. As a synthetic biologist who co-founded Eligo BioscienceĀ and Hello Tomorrow, he combines scientific excellence and entrepreneurial boldness. His journey played a pivotal role in inspiring the creation of Artemisia Greentech.

🩺 FemTech: Mind the gap

Session ā€œMind the Gap: Why FemTech Needs More Investment Nowā€ during VivaTech 2025, highlighting gender inequalities in health innovation funding.

During another powerful session, all-women speakers emphasized the significant underfunding of women’s health, noting that less than 4% of R&D spending and under 2% of VC funding goes towards this area. Beyond the numbers, the message was clear investing in FemTech is urgent and visibility remains a key obstacle. This serves as a reminder that equity and innovation must advance together.

šŸ¤– Macron, Nvidia & Mistral: the AI sovereignty call

One of the most significant moments occurred under the DƓme de Paris, where President Emmanuel Macron, Jensen Huang (CEO of Nvidia), and Arthur Mensch (CEO of Mistral AI) came together on stage to discuss the future of artificial intelligence. Jensen Huang declared, "You don't outsource your intelligence." This statement sums up the spirit of the conversation and what was at stake. The message was clear: strategic technologies like AI must remain under national control. This reminds us that sovereignty is not just about borders but also about knowledge, innovation, and long-term resilience.

Another highlight was the Female Founder Challenge, where women-led startups with breakthrough innovations took the stage. Among them: Hormona, Parallel Carbon, Radiant Matter, Verley, and Virtuosis AI. Congratulations to Hélène Briand, winner of the challenge and founder of Verley, a startup leveraging precision fermentation to produce dairy proteins!

šŸ’” Final thoughts

VivaTech 2025 was more than just a technology showcase; it was a celebration of purpose-driven innovation.

For Artemisia Greentech, winning the Coup de Cœur award validated our belief that biotech can evolve toward transparency, responsibility, and reduced environmental impact without compromising scientific quality.

The event also resulted in a brief mention in Les Ɖchos Entrepreneurs, alongside other inspiring finalists. It was a nice nod from the ecosystem and a sign that the conversation around sustainable science is gaining ground.
